Protein guanine affinity and purine density of its autogenous mRNA

The guanine affinity profile1 of a human RNA polymerase III subunit (dark blue) shows high similarity to the purine density profile of its own mRNA (light blue). Using the interface below, the affinity profile can be recalculated for different nucleobases or exchanged for other protein properties. Similarly, different mRNA nucleobase density profiles can be explored. The similarity between active profiles can be quantified using the correlation dropdown, which shows the Pearson correlation coefficient between the two.

Note: the protein and RNA axes go in opposite directions. This is due to the affinity scales being defined in energy units whereby the more negative values indicate a stronger interaction.
